Hmmm...what's new..

I've been playing a lot of Karaoke Revolution. I bought a copy of that game. I'm about 95% done with that game. But I guess there is a lot of replay value in improving on all the 36 songs in the game.

I'm back on track with the gym starting from the 24th. I was doing good from christmas till before I got the flu on the 12th. i'll start going to rimac during spring quarter and tough it out at the IG gym until then.

man, I can't believe 1/12th of 2004 is already over. life is sure passing by fast.

I walked to the vendor fair on library walk today. I saw that Zuniga guy again (the guy with the nice pictured frames.) I saw this drawing in a nice frame I wanted to get, but I thought I could do a better job and it would have more meaning. So maybe I'll infest in some nice frames and draw some of the stuff myself. We'll see how that goes. I also need to frame the 500 pc puzzle I completed while I was injured.

other than that there isn't too much going on. I completed Mario Kart a week or so ago. I've been really good on not spending money for lunch, and dinner during the weekdays.

I wanna get into investing in real estate. I've been reading Rich Dad Poor Dad again and I really think its something I'll enjoy doing a lot once I get into it. I'll seek and create potential on business and residential properties. When my brother graduates in a few years, maybe me and him will team up and do this for a living.

Tonight, I'm going to try to make it to Phil's BBQ if possible. Tomorrow I have to go to the dentist for a crown. Then I'm gonna play some Texas Holdem at night. On Sunday, I'll do some superbowl things at ray's uncle's place.

No new post for 3 weeks? That's gotta be a record. Other than the time I was injured of course. Let's see...

I spent new years with family. Ate pounds of sushi. My brother came down to San Diego with me for a week. Took him to Sycuan for some prime rib buffet action. We made ribs from the Good Eats recipie on Sunday cause phil's bbq was closed. Went to casey's place to play some DDR and EyeToy. Took him to Balboa Park, Taste of Thai, and Extrodinary Desserts on Tuesday. Played No limit Texas hold em at casey's place on Tursday. We went to Diem's place for some spring rolls and poker on Friday. Got boba and went to Fry's on Saturday. Watched some anime. It was all a lot of fun.

Saturday night, played some No limit Texas hold em at Matt and Stan's place. Monday, played some DDR again at Casey's place with a bunch of people. Then I got the flu Monday night. It was harsh. I shook off the flu by Friday, but I still have a lot of congestion and irritation in the lungs and sinuses that is going to take a while to get rid of. Saturday, I got some Pho, then went to the Carlsbad outlets. Finally spent my remaining $22 in Gap gift card, and $45 in Banana. Got 2 shirts and jeans for a total of <$12 with the gift cards. Then we went to eat at Villa Carpi next to Casey's house. Got some bread pudding. yum..

Sunday, I went up to Big Bear with Ray, Casey, Steve, Remy. Woke up at 5am, and was out of the house by 5:45 to leave for Big Bear. I didn't ski or snowboard, but I hiked and took pics. The cabin that we were able to stay in for free was awesome. I brought my poker set, gamecube with Mariokart, Casey brought his DDR pads and PS2, steve brought Kareoke Revolution, Remy brought 50 dices (die?). Along with the hiking, Remy and I went in search for a A/V cable for the PS2. We found a RF Modulator just for the ps2 at RadioShack for $20. It wasn't exactly what we were looking for. Its true that a lot of these cabis need a RF Modulator, but we weren't sure if we even needed one. And if we did, we would need one for the gamecube as well. So what we needed was a standard A/V cable for the PS2 and a seperate RF modulator. We thought we could do better so we went to K-Mart which didn't have much of a selection. Then we went to Sav-ons. And wouldn't you know it? They had a GC/PS2/XBOX modulator for $10. We almost gave up rather quickly after they had a pretty miniscule electronics section, but persistance paid off. We snatched that up. Then we had to kill more time, so we went to the local beef jerky shop. Picked up some jerky, then there was a Factory 2U near by. We didn't know what Factory 2U's were, so out of curiosity, we thought we check it out. The store is 95% crappy below K-Mart clothes, and they had a small toy section on the side. They had some interesting deals. I picked up a pair of Bicycle GIJOE playing cards in a tin can for $2. Remy got 4 superballs for $1. I think I'll stop by Factory 2U more often when I'm bored.

After that we met up with the guys that were snow boarding. Went to this Italian place called Paola or something like that. Played a game of pool at the bar. I ordered some Linguine in meat sauce that was more like linguine in minced garlic. And severely over priced I might add for something I could have gotten with just a little less garlic at Sierra Summit for about $3. After dinner, we played this game with dice that was really cool. Everybody rolls 6 of them and we all try to guess what everyone's holding and call other people's bluffs. Then we played some no limit. I got 2nd place this time at least. I played my losing hand correctly (went all in a head to head when I was the short stack with A,K). Then we played some Kareoke Revolution. Man, that game is so hilarious. Then some DDR, and it was time to go to sleep.

I slept for a good 10 hours to make up for some sleep I didn't get the day before. Then we went on a 4 hour hike that was about 6 miles both ways and about 2000 feet up. We hit the peak of the mountain and made our way back down by sun down. It was incredible to see what we had climed after we got back down. After that, we packed up and headed home for much needed rest.

On our way home, we stopped by Jack in the Box. I ordered the Ultimate Bacon Cheeseburger. A big mistake. I didn't know at the time but it was probably the saltiest, fattiest, thing I had ever put in my mouth for at least 2 years. Then on my drive home from Casey's house, I stopped by to get gas. And I didn't realize until it was too late, but every pump was its little ATM. You couldn't use your credit cards (unless you had the PIN, which no one knows cause they don't usually draw money out with their credit cards). So I had to use my ATM card (which I hate doing at gas stations cause sometimes they double charge). And it turns out that it works just like those little ATMs in 7-11. They charge you 35 cents at am&pm. And your bank charges you their $1.50 or $2.50. Yeah real savings. The thing is about 99% of all the gas I put in my car is Chevron. I only put it cause i was exhausted and it was just on my drive home. I guess its one way that AM&PM could advertise low prices, but I swear I will never fill up there again. Its a total scam for thier crappy gas.
