Today, a car ran a light and would have crashed into me for sure at a good 30-40mph while i was making a right turn if it wasn't my roommate who stopped me at the last moment from making a right lane. But if my roommates weren't in the car, would I have even been in that situation to begin with?
Well, I think a near accident is better than never encountering that situation in the first place. Next time I'm at a similar situation, I'll know to be a little extra careful when making a right turn, but more careful when making that turn specifically. Who knows, having gone through this near accident might save my life one day.
You also can't dwell in the "what if's" in life because you can't change what has happened in the past. And you can never tell what's gonna happen in the future. For example: How many people have died driving home after giving a friend a ride to the airport? I'm sure a few. But how many people bought winning lottery tickets on their way back home after doing a friend a favor? I'm sure there have been at least one. There is no way a person could control the random things that happen in life. I'm just thankful that my roommates were there to save me from a possible disasterous situation I could have gotten myself into tonight.
